Before you go.

A few checks can prevent a wasted drive. The operator’s current information and on-site instructions take priority over anything here.

Can I use it without staying overnight?

Look for explicit non-guest or public-access terms from the operator. A dump station inside a campground may be for registered campers only, or open to everyone for a fee. When a source only describes the station for campers, we label non-guest access as not confirmed rather than assuming either way.

A campsite with its own sewer hookup is not the same as a shared dump station. A marina pump-out for boats is not evidence of an RV-accessible dump station.

Does a 24-hour store mean 24-hour dumping?

No. Store, office, gate and dump-station hours can differ. Our station pages label property hours separately and say when dump-specific hours are not published. Call the operator when they matter.

Is the fee per visit, or part of a camping fee?

Look for a dump-specific fee and who it applies to. An overnight campsite charge, park entrance permit or boat pump-out price is not a dump fee. Some operators waive the fee for registered guests or local sewer customers; that does not make the station free for everyone. See access and fees.

What do I need to check about water?

Drinking-water fill and tank-rinse water are different services. We list them separately and only when the operator states them. Follow posted labels, and do not assume an unmarked connection is drinking water.

How should I handle seasonal or closure notices?

Check the official notice before travelling. An approximate date such as “mid-October” is not an exact deadline. When a recorded closure period ends, we do not assume the station has reopened until the operator says so.

What about vehicle size and the approach?

Check length, height and turning restrictions with the operator. Map directions do not guarantee that a road or entrance suits your RV, and a map point may mark the larger property rather than the dump-station entrance.

How do I use the station itself?

Follow the operator’s posted instructions and signs at the station. Procedures, accepted waste and payment methods vary, and we only repeat them when the operator publishes them for that station.
